The Devils Lake Police Department is investigating the death of an inmate in the Lake Region Correctional Facility Jail.
According to Detective Sue Grove, on Sunday at about 5:30 a.m., inmate David Grove “was found unresponsive in his jail cell at the Lake Region Correctional Facility Jail.”
Grove was transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lake, but did not survive from injuries, which were believed to be self-inflicted.
Schwab says the Devils Lake P-D is investigating, with assistance from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
