Becker County drowning victim transferred to St. Cloud hospital

 

A 21-year-old West Fargo man was airlifted from Detroit Lakes to a St. Cloud hospital Saturday afternoon, after he was rescued from a drowning on the south shore of Lake Melissa.
According to the Becker County Sheriff, Todd Glander, at approximately 3:12 p.m. Saturday, the Becker County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible drowning on Lake Melissa, which is southwest of Detroit Lakes. A man dove into the lake, from a dock, and failed to resurface, a news release says.
The victim's brother pulled him from the lake and life-saving measures were performed.
The victim, identified as 21-year-old Charles Binstock, of West Fargo, was transported to Essentia-St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes, and was later airlifted to a St. Cloud hospital.
Officials say his condition is unavailable at this time. The incident is under investigation.
