Coats for Kids and Families Distribution Kicks Off Holiday Programs

With winter already making an appearance on Wednesday, winter clothing is a necessity. The Salvation Army, along with dozens of volunteers, will be distribute winter gear to hundreds of local families October 13 and Monday through Wednesday, October 13 and 15-17 at The former Salvation Army thrift store in Moorhead.

Families with a child will also have the opportunity to register for a Thanksgiving Food Box during Coats for Kids and Families distribution.

“We know how quickly the weather can turn cold and how important having adequate warm winter gear is. It is our goal to make sure everyone is prepared to face another winter,” said Kallie Frost, public relations and volunteer coordinator.

Donations of new or gently use warm winter gear will be accepted until the end of the program. Boys coats are needed primarily. Monetary donations are also accepted and will be put towards purchasing needed winter items.
