Fargo Police Identify Officer Involved in North Fargo Shooting

 

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at approximately 11:34 a.m., a Fargo Police officer was investigating a possible bike theft in the 1400 block of 1 Ave. N. The officer made a field contact with Richard Anthony Torres, 32 years old of Moorhead. Torres fled on foot and the officer pursued him. During the foot pursuit, Torres brandished a handgun and pointed it at the officer. Fargo Police Officer Cory Luckow feared for his life, and fired his service weapon at Torres. Officer Luckow has been with the Fargo Police Department for two years.

In accordance with policy and procedures, the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation will conduct the officer involved shooting investigation.
