Election 2018: Cass County Results

 

The results are in from several races within Cass County.

Cass County Commissioners, in Districts two and four, Rick Steen and Duane Breitling, both ran unopposed and were elected to terms on the commission.

Cass County State’s Attorney Birch Burdick ran opposed, and was re-elected.

Two newcomers to the race for Cass County Sheriff went head to head, with Jesse Jahner defeating Mike Kjera 63 percent to 36 percent.

Roger Fenstad was re-elected as a director of the Garrison Diversion Conservancy.

One measure hit the ballots in Cass County, where the measure would authorize the collection of a one-half percent sales tax for one year, with the proceeds to go toward the costs involved in improving the county's emergency radio and 911 dispatch system. Improvements would include things like new radios, dispatch software and renovations to radio towers.

Voters narrowly shot down the measure, 51 percent to 48 percent.
