Burgum Named Vice Chairman Of Western Governors Association

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has had a busy week. Early in the week, he was partaking in the annual meeting of the Western Governors’ Association (WGA), being held in Rapid City, South Dakota. The middle of the week got no easier, as Burgum welcomed President Donald Trump to Fargo for a rally in support of Kevin Cramer, in front of 6,000 raucous fans at Scheels Arena. But it was in Rapid City where Burgum had the biggest news of his week. He was named the Vice Chairman for the WGA at the annual meeting. Burgum, who attended the meeting with his wife, Kathryn (Helgaas) Burgum, will serve as Vice Chairman until the 2019 annual meeting, at which time Burgum will likely assume the Chairman role of the WGA. The 2019 meeting will be June 10-12 in Vail, Colorado.
