Due to the recent colder temperatures, the City of West Fargo is delaying the closure of Sheyenne Street from south of 32nd Avenue W. through 40th Avenue W. for at least one week. Once closed, traffic will be detoured west to Ninth Street W., north to 32nd Avenue W. and then east to Sheyenne Street.

To help facilitate the increased traffic on the marked detour route, temporary traffic lights will be placed on Ninth Street W. at the intersections of 32nd Avenue W. and 40th Avenue W. A temporary traffic light is also installed at the intersection of 32nd Avenue W. and Sheyenne Street. This light will be converted to a permanent signal this summer. Project teams are also working with emergency response services to plan for and accommodate public safety access to neighborhoods surrounding the construction work zone.

In addition to the closure delay, the City of West Fargo is reevaluating plans to close the Sheyenne Street and 40th Avenue W. intersection to through traffic. Final closure information will be available after the project team is able to review the weather and ground conditions, as well as the potential to facilitate traffic flow in the area.
