Red River in Fargo Rising

 

The Red River in Fargo has begun a slow rise.

According to the National Weather Service, as of 9:15 a.m. Friday, the Red River in Fargo was at 16.52 feet, which is just under the action stage of 17 feet.

The river is forecast to move into minor flood stage Sunday morning, steadily rising to a predicted level of 23 feet on Thursday, April 4. From there, it is forecast to remain at that level through the end of the forecast period.

Should it reach the predicted level of 23 feet, it would surpass the 2017 crest of 22.26 feet, reached on February 24, 2017.

The National Weather Service says the Red River in Fargo has a 60 percent chance of exceeding 37 feet.
