Baesler to Form New Cabinet

North Dakota State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler is inviting North Dakota parents to apply to join a new “Family Engagement Cabinet.”

Baesler says the cabinet will help parents and family members of students share their thoughts and ideas about improving education.

Parents who would like to be part of the cabinet are asked to fill out an application. Information is on the Department of Public Instruction’s website. Applications are due April 25th.

Baesler says the Family Engagement Cabinet will have about 20 members. It will meet in Bismarck for two to four hours every three months. The first meeting will be in the late spring.

Bismarck parent Beth Schatz Kaylor says she hopes the project will bring together parents from across North Dakota.

Bismarck elementary school principal Dr. Shawn Oban says collaboration among teachers, administrators and family members in North Dakota will be helpful.
