Red River Valley SWAT to Train in North Fargo Apr. 10

 

The Red River Valley SWAT Team will be conducting scenario training on Wed., April 10 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of 7 Ave. N. The 1100 block of 7 Ave. N. will be closed from 7 to 9 p.m. as part of the training exercise. Traffic should re-route around the block to the north to avoid the closure.

Residents can expect to see SWAT Team members and law enforcement officers carrying firearms, however no live firearms will be used during the training scenario. Residents will also hear loud noises and voices, and see several SWAT vehicles in the area with activated emergency lights. Law enforcement officers will be on scene to maintain safety and security of the surrounding area not included in the training. The training will cause no danger to the surrounding neighborhood.

While every effort is made to ensure the safety of the training environment, we encourage residents not to enter the training area for any reason. If you have a concern or need to talk to someone from the SWAT Team, please contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701.235.4493 and ask to speak with one of the training facilitators at the training site.
