Cass County Urges Residents and Motorists to Use Extreme Caution During Winter Storm

Cass County residents and motorists are urged to use extreme caution during the winter storm forecasted to impact our area Thursday and Friday, April 11th and 12th. County highway and public safety officials encourage all individuals to be particularly mindful of the following potentially dangerous situations:

• Sandbag levees constructed to hold back flood waters should be inspected to ensure they can withstand wave action from wind gusts up to 40 mph.

• Residents currently accessing property by wading, driving or boating through standing water are strongly encouraged not travel through water during the forecasted storm.

• Travelers utilizing county and township roads that have standing water in ditches should use extreme caution due to the risk of submersion if vehicles lose control and slide off the road.
