Frazee-Vergas Special Election

Voters in the Frazee-Vergas School District will head to the polls today in a special referendum vote.

The vote is whether or not to approve issuing school building bonds, not to exceed 25-point-six million dollars for “acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities”.

According to the Frazee-Vergas School District, the ballot referendum deals with improved campus safety and security, improved academic areas and improved activity areas at both the high school and elementary school within the school district.

The referendum, if passed, would add six dollars in taxes monthly to a residential homestead, valued at $50,000 market value.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at two sites within the district—the Frazee Event Center and the Vergas Community Center.
