Grand Forks Man Captured Following Stolen Vehicle Report, Running From Police

 

The Grand Forks Police Department responded to a call of a stolen vehicle Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The call was to 2530 17th Avenue South, where the victim reported that sometime during the night, his 2000 Ford F-150 pickup was stolen.

At approximately 3:36 p.m., a Grand Forks Police officer saw the pickup in the parking lot at 2505 13th Avenue South, occupied by a male subject. Upon approach, the man got out of the pickup, and ran into a residential area.

A perimeter was set up and, after about 20 minutes, the male subject was seen running between houses. An officer was able to capture the man in the back yard of one of the residences.

The suspect, Xavier Ferguson, 23, of Grand Forks, was arrested on charges of motor vehicle theft and fleeing from police. He was booked into the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
