The North Dakota Highway Patrol conducted a saturation patrol on Saturday in Griggs County, with the aim being to remove impaired drivers from the road.
The patrol resulted in 21 traffic citations, with 16 being speed related; 23 traffic warnings; two DUI arrests and no crashes.
In 2019, alcohol has been a causation factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal traffic crashes. In 2018, 33 people were killed in alcohol-involved crashes on North Dakota roads.
