On Tuesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 19, 20 fourth grade students from Lewis & Clark Elementary School will host their rendition of the Escape Room: The Classroom, and parents of the student creators will be the first to take on the challenge.

An Escape Room is a live-action game in which participants are locked in a room full of clues that must be found and puzzles that must be solved in order to get out within a set time limit. Most have a theme or back story to make the experience a bit more immersive. Teams of six to eight participants will be led to the escape room located in a portable classroom where they will attempt to solve various puzzles in 30 minutes. The classroom is decorated with old desks, strategically placed locks, and various school supplies that adds to The Classroom Escape Room ambiance.

This challenge was created through a camp hosted by The Fargo Escape Room and the Lewis & Clark Parent Teacher Association, which was held in June. During this two-week camp, students used 21st Century Skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication to imagine and construct their Escape Room.

During the 2018-19 school year, the fourth-grade students who participated in this camp will open the room to other students to see if they can utilize their 21st Century Skills to escape The Classroom.
