UNITED STATES – You can help someone experiencing hunger on Saturday, May 9 by simply leaving nonperishable food in a bag by your mailbox.
It’s all part of the Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with 10,000 cities and towns are taking part.
“We take everything to the Emergency Food Pantry, so it all stays local. It’s kind of tough to know how it’s going to turn out this year with the food prices being so much higher so that means the need is so much higher,” Fargo USPS Postal Carrier Mike Fosberg said.
The National Association of Letter Carriers said more than 1.82 billion pounds of food has been donated through the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive since 1993.
