(Sidney, MT) -- Police in Sidney, Montana say volunteers have found human remains during a search for the missing daughter of Grand Forks prosecutor Carmell Mattoon.

Volunteers discovered the body Thursday during a search for Katelynn Berry. Authorities say the remains were found around a thousand feet from Berry's home, but did not say whether it was her.

Sidney Police Chief Mark Kraft says the body will be sent to the state medical examiner for identification.

Berry was reported missing by her father on New Year's Eve after he says he lost contact with her for several days.
