Moorhead Police warn residents of increased package thefts

(Moorhead, MN) -- The Moorhead Police Department is warning residents of an increase in package thefts in the city. 

The Moorhead Police Department (MPD) has a few tips for residents who are looking to prevent "porch piracy."

- Have packages delivered to a safe location, such as to your place of work, a local post office, or a safe pick-up center.

- Use "ship to store" options

- Install security cameras. MPD recommends having more than one camera and at different angles if possible.

- Work together with your neighbors. Pick up packages for each other and deliver them once the homeowner is available.
