American Crystal Sugar and BCTGM union reach four-year agreement

(Fargo, ND) -- An agreement has been reached between union employees and American Crystal Sugar to ratify a four-year contract. 

The agreement gives an initial wage increase of 8% the first year, and grows 3% each subsequent year. It also gives the employees a $1,000 retention contract, vacation time, and additional policies directed towards temporary employment. 

"“We are a key economic driver in the Red River Valley, and the agreement helps us secure prosperity for our employees and shareholders that live and work in several communities across the valley,” said Lisa Borgen, the Vice President of Administration at American Crystal, "The new agreement increases wages by 17% over four years, enhances vacation and time-off, increases the pension payout, adds a new vision insurance plan, and brings other positive benefits to our employees.”

Factory operation are now fully underway in Moorhead, Crookston, East Grand Forks, Hillsboro, and Drayton.
