(Fargo, ND) -- A democratic candidate for state representative for District 10 in Fargo talks about one of his priority issues.
"One of my biggest planks in my platform is actually about disabled veterans. My brother is disabled veteran. He fought in the first Iraq war," said Damian Ridl.
Ridl says if elected he would work to protect services and benefits for veterans and says he opposes the idea of privatizing VA healthcare. The first-time candidate is native of Wiliston. He says his professional experience includes working in middle management positions in retail. He also says affordable housing is an issue to address. Ridl also says a "livable wage" would be in the range of $15 to $20 an hour.
"We have so many people that come into office that, they live in the community because they have to live in the district but they really don't necessarily know what's going on down at the bottom level. I come from a, I'm in a family that lives paycheck to paycheck," said Ridl.
The candidate is a native of Dickinson.
