Update: Man accused of Moorhead stabbing in custody

Update (9:41 p.m.) -- Shortly after the incident below in Moorhead, the Fargo Police Department was dispatched to an incident involving the suspect, now identified as 24-year-old Chance Thibert.

During their call for service, Thibert was taken into custody and is being transported to the Cass County Jail.

The Moorhead Police Department will be requesting the Clay County Attorney's Office to issue a long-form complainant for Thibert for several charges, including Felony Attempted Murder, Felony 2nd Degree Assault, and several other charges from this incident.

(Moorhead, MN) -- Moorhead Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing late Monday afternoon.

The Moorhead Police Department tells WDAY Radio that at approximately 4:40 p.m. officers responded to the 3000 block of 18 Street South for the reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a conscious male victim with multiple stab wounds to his arms and legs. The victim was transported to Sanford Health by ambulance, and is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim, and the incident occurred inside an apartment. The suspect has not been identified and is described as a Native American male in his 20s wearing black clothing. The weapon, described as a hunting knife, has not been recovered. The suspect left the scene before the arrival of first responders.
