FARGO, ND - Fargo city leaders hope to establish a task force to address the city's growing problem with homelessness. According to recent data, one-thousand people are experiencing homelessness in the metro area on any given night.  The homeless can often be seen sleeping in downtown Fargo and right outside City Hall and the Civic Center.

Mayor Tim Mahoney says Fargo is seeing more homelessness than ever before, and that the creation of a task force will help find metro-wide solutions and secure funding to tackle the issue. City Administrator Michael Redlinger plans on bringing a proposal for creating the task force to a commission meeting for approval by the end of the month.
