Hector International Airport sets monthly passenger record

(Fargo, ND) – Hector International Airport has broken a passenger record.

According to an announcement from the airport, Hector’s airline passenger traffic in September showed an increase when compared to the same month in 2022.

In September 2023, the passenger enplanements were 41,425, which is an increase of 17 percent when compared to the 2022 passenger enplanement of 35,213, which was the previous record setter. The total passenger count for the month was just under 82,000 (81,953), which is up 17 percent over the same period last year.

There were 488 air carrier departures with an average of 98 seats per flight in September, and an average of 2,732 daily passengers.

“The Airport Authority is pleased with the continued growth in our passenger boardings” said Executive Director, Shawn Dobberstein. “It demonstrates the confidence our airline partners have in serving the Fargo market” he continued. “This positive trend confirms the need to expand the passenger terminal to meet the needs of the traveling public in our region”.

Hector's ongoing commitment to infrastructure improvements and modernization, including state-of-the-art terminals and cutting-edge technology, will help create an even more efficient and passenger-friendly environment. The new terminal expansion and redesign is set to begin May 2024 to add additional gates, sensory friendly additions and updated TSA checkpoints. The expansion has the potential to increase airfare options as well.
