Fargo Airport Authority executive: people still have enough discretionary income to afford air travel

(Fargo, ND) -- The head of the Fargo Airport Authority talks about why 2023 was a record breaking year for passenger traffic.

"We're still showing a strong demand for air travel in our region. People seem to be able to find fairs that were within their range of what they thought was a good deal to fly some place," said Shawn Dobberstein.

Dobberstein also says there was "pent up demand from covid".

He also says people in the area still have enough discretionary income to afford to fly.

In 2023, the airport served just under one million 33 thousand passengers.
