Fargo City Commissioner Arlette Preston would have voted for Gaza ceasefire resolution if given the chance

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo City Commissioner Arlette Preston says she appreciates Mayor Mahoney's statement today calling for peace in Gaza, but says she would have taken it a step further.

"I really appreciate the statement, it was a good strong statement. There are probably I believe somewhere around 60 cities in the country that are expressing opinions this way that reflects the concerns that are coming from the community," said Preston.

Preston told WDAY Radio Now that had the commission taken a vote on calling for a ceasefire resolution on the conflict, that she would have voted "yes".

Some citizens recently asked the commission to pass a resolution.

Earlier this week, Mayor Mahoney said he believes the commission should remain focused on issues that directly impact the city.

Preston appeared on WDAY Mid Day.
