Candidate for Fargo City Commission says city "over evaluates" homes and properties

(Fargo, ND) -- A candidate for Fargo City Commission says special assessments "are a big reason why property taxes are going up" and says he has a plan to address the issue.

"I would end up putting the special assessments on the developers, incorporating it into the sale of a house. I don't think that property owners that are just getting into buying their first home want to have a 25 year payment option for paying off their special assessments," said Nate Pullen.

Pullen said he would also "bring an outside entity in to see how those properties are assessed".

Pullen also said the city currently "over evaluates" the values of homes and properties.

The candidate appeared on The Flag's "What's on Your Mind".
