UPDATED: Fargo Police investigate second stabbing in two days in North Fargo neighborhood

(Update: 06:12 a.m. Saturday, March 30th) -- Fargo Police are releasing more information related to a stabbing that occurred in an apartment unit near 11th Street and 11th Avenue North.

Police say Lacey Smith (31f, West Fargo) attempted to enter an apartment unit forcefully during an argument with the residence owner. The unit's owner stabbed Smith in the arm in self-defense according to authorities, as Smith attempted to enter the building through an apartment window. Police say Smith then left the window area and began throwing rocks at it from outside, breaking the glass pane. 

Smith was treated on scene for her injuries and then transported to the Cass County Jail for Burglary charges.

The Fargo Police Department are responding to reports of a possible stabbing in North Fargo. Authorities were seen in the area of 11th Street and 11th Avenue North. Police have confirmed to us a stabbing has occurred in that area. The severity of the injury is still unknown, along with any possible arrests. 

An investigation is ongoing. WDAY Radio is reaching out to authorities to learn more information. 

Another stabbing occurred Thursday morning this week, leading to the death of 22-year-old Ethan Larson from New Folden, Minnesota. A suspect, 28-year-old Michael Diedrich, is currently in custody in connection to the incident.
