Fargo Moorhead area law enforcement leaders tell business leaders recruiting remains a challenge

(Fargo, ND) -- Metro area business leaders gathered in Moorhead Tuesday morning to hear law enforcement leaders, including Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner, speak about how recruiting remains a top challenge. 

"I think that's the result of maybe some national sentiment or feeling towards law enforcement which is really unfortunate of course. We are really lucky in this area because we have strong support here, but it's really trying to attract people into the field right now and that's been difficult for all of our agencies," said Jahner.    

In terms of trends, Jahner told the group that thefts, burglaries and assaults were all "a little bit higher" last year in Cass County. 

He spoke at an "Eggs and Issues" event hosted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.
