Hoeven addresses success of Grand Forks business in multiple sectors

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota Senator John Hoeven says a 47-thousand square foot facility in Grand Forks develops advanced materials for extreme environments, focusing on defense, aerospace and industrial application.

Vorbeck Materials is in negotiations with the Defense Logistics Agency to finalize the contract for funding seven million dollars to support development of Vorbeck’s graphite-based fire suppressant.

Vorbeck was founded in Maryland, but expanded to Grand Forks after determining the region was a better fit for its efforts to develop applications for its advanced materials.
