Moorhead teen missing for nearly three months found safe in Fargo

MOORHEAD, MINN. – Moorhead Police say a tip led investigators to finding a missing teenager that was last seen nearly three months ago.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said 16-year-old Colt Long, Jr., was last seen February 23, 2026, and has remained missing since.

MPD Detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which assisted in locating him in Fargo earlier today,” Lieutenant Mike Detloff said. “With support from the Fargo Police Department, he was safely recovered. We appreciate the assistance provided by NCMEC and the Fargo Police Department.”
