(Washington, DC) -- Ukraine is getting 800-million-dollars worth of military hardware from the U.S.
President Biden on Wednesday authorized a new security assistance package for Ukraine in its battle against Russian forces. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby says the 800-million-dollar package includes howitzer cannons with 40-thousand artillery rounds, 500 anti-tank missiles, 300 Switchblade drones, 100 armored Humvees and eleven Mi-17 helicopters.
The package also includes shoulder-mounted weapons, air surveillance radars, body armor and demolition equipment. Kirby said the military aid was "urgently needed" in Ukraine.
