(Kabul) -- The Taliban is begging President Biden to release assets that are frozen in U.S. banks so it can respond to the earthquake that killed at least a thousand people this week.
Fifteen-hundred people were injured when the six-point-one magnitude quake hit the southern city of Khost on Tuesday.
After the Taliban took over when the former Afghan government fled in August, the Biden administration froze nine and-a-half billion dollars of Afghan Central Bank reserves held in U.S. banks.
