(Fargo, ND) -- Love is in the air, along with potentially damaging metallic balloons.
Who knew a symbol of love could cause so many problems? Power companies say with the shiny balloons also comes Valentine's Day power outages, property damage and even injury.
If you accidentally, or purposely, set a balloon free to drift above they can hit power lines and cause widespread outages.
Last year, drifting metallic balloons caused more than 414 outages in California.
