(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota health and pollution control leaders are giving an update on the state's fight against so-called "forever chemicals."

Representatives from the Pollution Control Agency and Department of Health gathered at the State Capitol in St. Paul this morning to discuss what's being done to clean up, manage, and prevent Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) pollution. MPCA Commissioner Katrina Kessler said residents should feel encouraged by the state's progress but there's more work to do. These cancer-causing chemicals are found in everyday household products, drinking water, soil, air, and more. Governor Tim Walz' budget proposal includes more than 45-million-dollars to help with this effort.
