(Grand Rapids, MI)  --  The first birth control pill approved in the U.S. for over-the-counter use will be available later this month.

The medication is called Opill and was FDA-approved for prescription use in 1973. Studies show it's 98% effective if taken as directed. The pill will cost $20 for a one-month supply, 5$0 for a three-month supply.

It'll be available online and at select pharmacies, including CVS and Walgreens, for pre-ordering as early as this week.
