(Baltimore, MD)  --  Stormy weather is affecting salvage efforts at the site of the Baltimore Bridge collapse.

Crane operations were put on hold Wednesday because of severe thunderstorms and high winds, but crews carried out routine salvage assessments. Divers were also on the scene conducting underwater surveys to map out plans for wreckage removal.

U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Shannon Gilreath says barges are on standby and crews are ready to start unloading undamaged containers from the ship, but have been waiting for a break in the weather.
