(Washington, DC)  --  Supporters of long COVID research are criticizing the Biden administration over its lack of funding.

The Long COVID Campaign put out a press release Thursday calling on congressional leaders to set aside at least 1.2 Billion dollars for research.  It said despite long COVID's impact on the U.S. healthcare system and economy, the recent White House NIH budget request didn't prioritize research into the disease.

A recent study found that those with even mild COVID-19 cases could stay at a higher risk for heart issues, blood clots, neurologic problems and other complications for as long as two years.
