(Minot, ND) -- It could be a tough season for duck hunters.
The state's Game and Fish Department says the waterfowl population could be down more than 35-percent from last year. The current drought is to blame and the last time there was a drop in population was the 1990s.
Despite this, officials with Migratory Game Bird Management say one dry year won't have a lasting effect on duck population.
Duck will still be available, but hunters will have to keep the current conditions in mind.
