(Pierre, SD) -- South Dakota's Labor Secretary is being called before a legislative committee in connection with a probe into possible nepotism by Governor Kristi Noem.

Marcia Hultman was subpoenaed Monday by the state Legislature's Government Operations and Audit Committee. She is being required to submit training records related to Kassidy Peters' certification as a real estate appraiser.

The inquiry relates to a closed-door meeting in July 2020 where Noem, Hultman, and administration officials discussed the certification program. Peters is Noem's daughter and also attended the meeting while she was in the appraisers trainee program.
