Governor Walz signs 25-million dollar allocation toward ALS research, caregiver support

(St. Paul, MN) -- A new measure in Minnesota will provide funds for research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.

Governor Tim Walz signed a bill yesterday that allocates 20-million dollars in grants to researchers. The bill also includes 5 million for caregiver support.

Senator David Tomassoni is an ALS patient and advocated for the funding. Tomassoni was present for the signing surrounded by his sons, other lawmakers, and advocates.
