Carnahan ordered to repay late Husband's family for his medical expenses

(Faribault County, MN) -- Former Minnesota GOP Chair Jennifer Carnahan is being ordered to reimburse her late husband's family for his medical expenses.

A judge issued the order Wednesday in Faribault County District Court in response to a lawsuit filed by the family of late Congressman Jim Hagedorn.

Hagedorn's mother, stepfather, and sister sued Carnahan in May, saying she broke a promise to repay them out of benefits she inherited after her husband's death. Carnahan says she interpreted the payment as a gift and will appeal the decision.

Hagedorn died in February after battling kidney cancer and COVID-19.
