(Pierre, SD) -- A new poll shows support for cutting the grocery tax in South Dakota.

Governor Kristi Noem released the poll Monday ahead of the House Committee on Appropriations debate on a bill that would eliminate the tax.

The poll was conducted by Front Porch Strategies for South Dakota Strong Leadership PAC and shows that nearly 60-percent of those survey favor eliminating the grocery tax.

The poll also indicates 93-percent are "significantly impacted" by rising inflation.

The survey also shows grocery tax cuts are more popular than other cuts, such as to property taxes.
