(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says there has been a significant drop in applications for firearms permits.

The bureau released its 2022 Permit to Carry Report Wednesday.

The data is required to be submitted by Minnesota law enforcement agencies.

Officials say permits applied for and issued have fallen after historic highs in the two previous years.
