(Grand Forks, ND) -- WDAY Radio has learned more information about a story we've followed for you involving a body found at the Grand Forks Airport from over the weekend.

The Grand Forks Police Department tells us that initial interactions with the person in question began around 1:48 a.m. Friday, March 24th when officers attempted to approach a white Chevy Silverado with the driver passed out behind the wheel. What followed was a short chase that was later terminated due to speed and safety concerns.

Then, around 2:30 p.m. Friday officers with Grand Forks PD and UND found the truck stuck in the snow in a field by the UND James Ray Hanger. Later on in the day, the driver was reported missing by family members.

Local authorities then started a search for the man Saturday morning, with him being found around noon.

The man has now been identified as 30-year-old Tyler James Richard Smith of Selkirk, Manitoba Canada. To this point it is unclear if foul play is suspected.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
