Dog attack leaves three year old seriously injured in Beltrami County

(Leech Lake, MN) --The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says a child was flown to a Fargo hospital following a dog attack.

The incident occurred north of Cass Lake at around 9:42 a.m. Authorities say a 3-year-old and her mother were playing in their yard when the dog entered the property and attacked the child - who was initially taken to Cass Lake Indian Health Service, but later flown to Fargo for additional treatment. The dog has since been located by the Leech Lake Police Department and a Beltrami County Deputy.

A disposition for the dog is currently pending by the police department's animal control division.
