More than 100 rescued from Upped Red Lake after ice separates from shore

(Upper Red Lake, MN) -- The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says they rescued 100 people who were stranded on the ice in Upper Red Lake on Friday.

Authorities say they received word of the stranded fishermen at around 5:00 p.m. Friday, and quickly responded. A public alert was sent out to the local area to warn individuals of the breakage. No injuries were reported in the incident, but four individuals did fall into the water after bystanders attempted to bring people to shore via canoe. 

122 people were pulled off the ice.
