(Minneapolis, MN) -- Minnesota's Fort Snelling State Park is temporarily closing for a second time this spring due to flooding concerns.

The park just opened two days ago, but announced the closure because the main road and all parking lots will be impacted by rising water levels. The park is expected to remain closed until flood related debris is cleared, repairs are finished, and safety issues are addressed.

“We are disappointed to close Fort Snelling State Park for the second time this spring but must do so out of concern for visitor and staff safety,” said Ann Pierce, director of the DNR Parks and Trails Division.
