North Dakota State Capitol construction could impact upcoming special session 

(Bismarck, ND) -- Construction at the North Dakota Capitol could get in the way of an upcoming special legislative session.  

Lawmakers are expected to return to their chambers next month after the state Supreme Court ruled that a major budget bill was unconstitutional.  

The Prairie Public reports that crews have been working on upgrades to the HVAC system since May.  

Officials are hoping the work is further along by the end of the month in the event they reconvene in November.  

Governor Doug Burgum is continuing to meet with legislators to discuss how they should move forward.
