(Minneapolis, MN) -- A Minneapolis man is no longer behind bars after his murder conviction was thrown out by a judge.

Marvin Haynes was in the Stillwater Prison for 18 years after being convicted of shooting a North Minneapolis flower shop worker. The Hennepin County Attorney, Mary Moriarty, says the 2005 conviction was based on eyewitness testimony, no video, and no forensic evidence like fingerprints or DNA.

On his release, Haynes said he just wants to see his mom.
