(St. Paul, MN) --  A Minnesota bill, if passed, will allow doctors to help terminally ill patients die.

The Medical Aid in Dying bill has been discussed by lawmakers in the Minnesota Legislature for the past eight years. So far, ten states allow similar versions of the legislation. The bill has several qualifications before a person becomes eligible, including an age minimum of 18 or older, and the person must have a terminal illness that would kill them in six months or less.

The bill passed a committee yesterday.
